Preschool for Kylee

James and I are considering letting Kylee go to preschool next school year. The requirements are age 3 and potty trianed. So, Kylee is able to go next year. I've called the school we would like her to go to and asked some of the questions I had. Registration is March 5th, so we need to decide by then. Next week, I plan to take a short tour of the Church/School. They do have a ciriculum, so its not just play, which I like. The only disciplining they do is time-outs. Some schools still do swats on the hand (gasp!), but I think thats mainly private schools. School is Monday-Friday from 9-11:45. They follow the same holidays/days off as Minot does. Except Christmas break is a bit longer. It will be a great way for Kylee to interact with kids her age. It will also let me and Wyatt have our own time to spend together when she's at school. Plus, if Wyatt takes a nap while Kylee is at school. I can focus on my own school work. Several of our friends take their kids to the same school, so I have heard plenty of good things about it. Now the down side... it's not free of course. Its $110 dollars a month (I know what your thinking- to let our 3 yr old go to school). I can drive Kylee there myself which is right off base, about 1/4 of a mile down the road. I definatly wouldn't mind, but in the winter time, I would have to get Wyatt out of the car for a few minutes JUST to pick up Kylee. Or, we could have her ride the school bus there, which is $55 a month. I thought that was just ridiculous, BUT I would probably spend that amount in gas taking her there and picking her up each day.

So, even though I think this is a good thing for Kylee, James and I will have to consider the cost and see if we think its worth it, and if we can afford it.

Well if you can afford it, I'm sure you'll find that it's worth it. 5 days a week seems like a lot though. I think you only went 2 days a week at age 3, and 3 days a week at age 4. Anyway, it sounds exciting!

If you can fit the cost into your budget, I think it's a great idea. Kylee needs social time with other kids her age and Wyatt needs one-on-one time with his Mommy.....Kylee had it at his age. I'm glad you found a good pre-school so close to home and riding the bus will be a blast for Kylee.
