The base is having their annual Northern Neighbors Day air show this weekend. The actual air show is tomorrow, but tonight they had a NND kick off for all of the military. Its pretty much the same thing as the air show, but no venders and they didn't have the planes and vehicles opened to tour.
The kids and I went to the air show with Jen, James, Carter, and Jack. We watched some guys play bag pipes which were pretty neat. Kylee enjoyed dancing to them. We walked around and saw some of the planes and a helicopter. The kids LOVED the helicopter. Unfortunately, they didn't have it ready to tour tonight. They also had several planes do some stunts which were pretty cool to see. One even shut off its engine and floated down to the ground. The Army's Golden Knights parachute team were also there. Right before the show ended an F-16 flew around. It first came from behind us and scared all the kids. Kylee had her ears plugged the whole time and begged to go home. Wyatt, for some reason, had his hands on his cheeks and near his eyes as if he was hiding. He didnt' cry, but one time he did shake pretty bad. But they both enjoyed watching the F-16 fly around.
I don't think we are going to the air show tomorrow as its usually pretty crowded and we would have to park across base just to get there. If its warm enough (there is a small chance of that) I may take the kids to the pool downtown tomorrow.
