James' deployment is right around the corner. He flies out on Saturday around 11 am. We are very lucky that he doesn't fly out at 5 am. It will be nice not to be so rushed in the morning before we have to leave for the airport, and the kids get to spend some extra time with him. Once he leaves Minot, he flies to South Carolina where he will take a taxi to a base nearby. He'll stay over night there and leave on Sunday for Iraq. It will probably take him an extra day or two to actually get to Kirkuk though.
Tonight after the kids went to bed we worked on packing his bags. This is when it actually sets in that he is really leaving.
He has a few more things to out process, but for the most part he won't be at work too much this week, at least I hope. Kylee understands to a point that Daddy is leaving. We have talked about it and read some really great books about Daddy being gone and what he'll be doing and why he won't be home for a while. Thanks Jackie again for those! James has left twice recently for 2 weeks at a time, so I'm not sure if she understands that he will be gone for a really long time.
Saying goodbye to James is always hard, but the hardest part is seeing him say goodbye to the kids. Its going to be a tough 6 months while he is away, but we will try to keep busy.

Lacey, you are a great Mom and I know you will keep those kids as busy as little bees while James is gone. I pray the time passes swiftly for all of us. Love ya
I get tears in my eyes when I think about the kids saying good-bye to their Daddy. I hope that time flies and pray that James stays safe!
