Minot State has a pretty good program for Nursing and its at a good price. So we have considered staying here another 5 years so I can finish school here. I have been looking at all of the classes i will need to take for Nursing. There are 33 more classes I need to have for my BSN. I still plan on finishing my Medical Transcription course because that is our backup plan if James does end up getting out, or if we can't stay here for another 5 years.
There is also a good social work program at MSU. I've always said I've wanted to be a social worker, but I don't know if I can do it. I don't know if I'm tough enough. The reason why I've thought so hard about nursing is because I know I can handle it, and when won't they need nurses?? It would be a lot easier to find a job as a nurse when moving around all the time. I was just a few drugs away from being a nurse in the military. (Meaning I wasn't able to give certain meds like a civilian nurse can. But I did almost all the other stuff they do.) I'll have a little head start in classes since I'm familiar with some things. I guess I'm a little afraid to get into something that I'm not sure I'll succeed in. I like to take chances, but I'm not about to go to school for 4 years, spend all that money, and end up finding out its not for me. I don't know.... i have a few months before I need to enroll into classes, I'll keep thinking about it.

You can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. I know social work can be very heartbreaking sometimes but I think you have what it takes to succeed at it. I agree that it would be a terrible waste of time and money to continue with nursing if your heart isn't in it. GO FOR IT, LACEY....you have a kind heart and a sensible mind. Those things combined will make you a wonderful social worker.
I know you can do anything you set out to do. Did you know that I was in nurse's training when Grandpa and I got married? I quit (big mistake!) when I got pregnant with your mom. Nursing is a very rewarding and lucrative calling. I am so proud of you for doing all you do. "You go, girl!"
