Cast Iron skillet
I was watching the food network channel last night and they were talking about Cast Irons. The show was explaining how one company makes them. Anyhow, I still really want one of these, particularly one that is already 'seasoned'. A company called Lodge makes them already to use or as they call it, 'seasoned.'

I always stayed away from cast iron because it had to be seasoned and re-seasoned as you used it. Timmy's son, Steven, loves to use cast iron on the grill....I think that's what I'm getting him for Christmas.
I have used cast iron all my married life. Many times you can find old ones in great shape in antique or thrift shops. I always put a little olive oil on mine, inside and out, after I wash them. I have two at home and one in the motorhome. You will make the best homefries in a cast iron skillet!
I have used cast iron for years...it's wonderful!! We have occasionally had to re-season a piece, but not often, maybe three or four times in 12 years. But I don't care for the Lodge Logic (pre-seasoned). Maybe we got a defective one, but the first (and only--I still haven't got the rust off) time I used it, the lid rusted.
