Bug bites

Last night I took the kids for a walk around base. When we came inside from the walk I noticed a few little bites on Kylee's hands near his knuckles. I didn't think anything of it, she gets mosquito bites all the time. This morning I noticed that her knuckles were red and a bit swollen. Through out the day I keep an eye on it, but it slowly got worse. She had good blood flow to her fingers and she could move it just fine so I decided to keep an eye on it for a while. Well, she woke up around midnight to use the bathroom and I took a look at her hand. Geez, its gotten pretty bad. The swelling has traveled up some of her fingers and all the way around them. AND down to her wrist. Its so red and is looking painful. The skin feels like if you put a little bitty hole in it, it will pop... like a balloon. I am definitely calling the doctor tomorrow morning. I really hope I'm not being stupid by not calling the on call doctor right now. I hate calling them, plus its something that normally wouldn't be serious. I just don't want it to get worse during the night and I don't know about it. And I don't want the edema causing circulation problems to her fingers. What on earth could have bit her to cause this type of reaction?! By the way, you can't even tell where she was bit at now. Good news though, no red streaks going up her arm and no fever.

Maybe a spider? Whatever it was, I think she may be allergic to the venom. They will probably give her a shot. Keep us posted!
