Well, another long day in court today. But its over. It was actually pretty interesting and I wouldn't mind doing it again. I won't go into details, but it was an automobile accident that occured in 2003 at an intersection heading to town. The plantiff was asking for about $300,000 for medical bills (that only totaled 7 grand) in the past, money for the medical bills in the future, $600 dollars of missed work two weeks after the accident, and then money for pain and suffering from the past 5 yrs and the rest of her life. Well, it took us several hours to come to a conclusion. We decided to only give her around 45,000 dollars. That was all past medical bills, $10,000 for future medical bills, the 600 dollars from missed work and then 25,000 dollars for pain and suffereing for the past 5 years. I just don't think her back and neck pain is ALL related to this accident. Anyhow, I shouldn't go into detail, but the injury definatly didn't limitate her to anything, if anything, she excelled after the accident.
I don't have to do jury duty for another 2 years though, even though I wouldn't mind. :)
Lance was summoned for this Monday for Jury duty. I wonder what his case is about.

I did jury duty once and I hope they lost my name and address!! It was an arson case and the defendant was later convicted of murder in another case. It was all a little scary for me and I hope to never have to do it again!!
