Kylee sees the Dentist

Kylee had her first dental appt yesterday. I was expecting to have her sit on my lap in the chair and have to keep reminding her to keep her mouth open. To make the whole process easier on both me and her, James and I have been talking to her about the dentist, reading her tooth books and telling her what was going to happen. I didn't think she would fight the dentist, but I also didn't think it would go smoothly. Once again, Kylee surprised me. When they called us back to the exam room, Kylee had no problem going and getting in the chair. They gave her a pair of sunglasses to keep the light out of her eyes, Dora ones by the way. They leaned her chair back and Kylee opened wide. I was sitting across the room from her, she didn't want her mama. They tech used the mirror to look in her mouth, cleaned her teeth and even put fluoride on them. The dentist came in and poked around a bit counting her teeth. Kylee didn't complain once, she just sat there, watch a movie and let them do their thing. I was very impressed. Even the dentist was impressed. He said 1 out of 100 2 yr olds will sit and let them do what they need to. He also said Kylee has perfect, healthy, clean teeth and he'll see us back in 6 months. Next time they want to try to get film of her teeth.... we'll see how that one goes!

Way ta go, Kylee Anne!! Kylee has been exposed to so many wonderful things like ice skating, no wonder a visit to the dentist didn't faze her.
