You know how we had plans on trying to get another 5-year controlled tour here so I can finish school? Well, we found out yesturday that we can't get a back-to-back controlled tour. So, I started looking at bases that have colleges near by with a nursing program. I found several that I could chose from, but tuition was much more expensive. One school I would have to live in a different city my senior year which is NOT an option for us! So, I gave up looking for other bases and decided we have to figure out a way to stay here, atleast for half of my school.
We have 3 choices.
1. James can apply for a remote tour to Korea for a year (we stay here while he's there) but then we can pick our next base which would be here so I can finish school (but thats not guarenteed either).
2. Apply for a 2-year BOP (Base of Preference) for here. We can't apply to get one anywhere else until AFTER the controlled tour is up, which by then, we might have orders in the works.
3. Just do nothing and wait for orders. We could go farther away, closer to home, or James could go to Korea.
We think our best option is choice #2. Atleast I'll be able to finish half of my classes.

It doesn't make much sense for ya'll to have to wait till this tour is up before you can apply but that's the government for you!! It will all work out in the end.
