I received a letter from the Pastor of Kylee's school today. He will no longer be the pastor as of December. In fact, there isn't a replacement either. This really affects Kylee and whether or not she will continue to go to school for many reasons. First of all, the very small congregation of the church does not like the pastor for very silly reasons. They don't want the school there, but the pastor does. He's the one who runs it and is very involved in everything with the school. Because the pastor is for the school, the members of the church want the pastor to leave. They decided recently, that the church can no longer afford a pastor so he lost his job. Pretty shitty that a church can do that. Anyhow, the church has decided to take over and run the school. I think its just going to be for this year, but I'm not sure. The leadership has not told the pastor, the teachers or the parents their intentions for the school. However, I do know its not longer going to be called a school. They are calling it a daycare. AND there will be no bus service because the pastor drove the bus. I am not sure if they are going to keep the same teachers, if there is going to be a curriculum or if it will be more like mothers day out. Why would I want to send my child to a school when the people running the school don't' even want the students there!? This school has done so much for Kylee already. She's made lots of friends, been more independent, learned a ton of stuff, even bible stories and songs. I don't want Kylee to loose all of that. I want to speak to her teachers later this week or early next week (maybe they will know more then) about whether they plan to stay, if the school itself will change much or what. If Elizabeth will stay and things won't change much, I will keep her in class. I'll have to take her to school every day, but maybe I can work something out with another mother and carpool.
There are no other options around here for Preschool. Well, no other options for us. We don't qualify for the Head start program and the CDC enrichment program is more about learning through playing. I guess both is better than Kylee staying home. The closest preschool is in town, and there is no way we'll be driving all the way out there twice a day!
I am so upset about all of this. I just hope everything works out with the school and I hope the pastor and his family can find a church that has open arms and isn't shady!

I am so sorry that ya'll are facing this sudden change. Kylee does seem to enjoy the school and the friendships she has made there. We'll pray that the school doesn't change very much and that she can finish the year there.
This congregation certainly has a lot of power. What a shame for all the kids!
