I have been really busy with school lately. That's about all I do now. Lots of reading, lots of typing and lots of homework. This would be the reason my blog hasn't been updated lately. i will try to stay on top of it.
Classes are going well for the most part.
Medical Law and Ethics is pretty boring and its hard to pay attention while reading. I don't know if Tracey took this course or not, but I wonder if she liked it?
Medical Transcription is actually difficult. The reading and quizzes aren't hard at all, but the actually transcribing is difficult. Half of the doctors don't know how to dictate. Here are some examples. "I don't like to go to school period school can be really boring comma hard comma and stresful period new paragraph". I think I know where to put my periods and what not, do they really need to tell me? Others talk like this "howcomenoonewantstogodowntownummmmmmmmiwouldliketogoshoppinghowaboutyou" Try listening to an ESL doc (English as second language). Do you have one of those doctors that you can barley understand? Its worse to try to figure out what they are talking about in dictations. Half of the medical terms I haven't heard of so I'm looking through tons of books to try to figure out what they are talking about. I've got 4 reference books right now and one on the way. Anyhow, lots of dictations/transcriptions, lots of rewinding and lots of confusion. :)
Typing is OK I guess. The classes has assignments that help you learn how to use the Windows 2007 Word which is really nice. The timed typing part can be difficult once I get into 1 minute timings with only 1 error allowed and no backspaces.
Medical Diseases is a pretty good course. The chapters are easy to read, probably because its filled with interesting information. This is my fave class.
